I just finished my first 80+ hour playthrough of Horizon's Zero Dawn on the PS4 Pro. Astounding, amazing. This is now the bench mark for best SP game that i will be judging all other games against finally knocking the long running previous champ (The Last of Us - which is still a must play). Anyway I just have one minor achievement to polish off after this post and I'll have the platinum trophy. I can't wait for the new DLC just listed in the PSN Store. TL DR. Buy a PS4 or PS4 pro and get Horizon Zero Dawn it's easily the best SP game experience I've ever had in my 30+ years of gaming. Hope all is well Cheers Calvin

Maybe next year. That's a lot of blood and plasma I'll have to sell.

And that to me is the whole point in favor of this system. Now you're not going to NEED to upgrade in order to play new games. Discounting the ridiculous lifespan of the PS3 and the Xbox 360, a 4 year split between consoles isn't really outside of the norm, with the old console still being "supported" for a couple of years after the new one has been released. With this, buying the new console on day 1 isn't necessary if there are games coming out at the time that you're interested in playing on that platform - you can just play those games on your existing hardware if you're fine with that. And when or if you decide that you do want to start gaming with the improved graphics and performance of the newer system, you can just make the purchase down the road. I can only hope that they genuinely follow through with this view of how consoles should work moving forward, so that in 4 years when the next big refresh comes there's still the built in compatibility with all the games that came before. They did show off a lot of games. Many of those games are timed exclusives on console launch, and very few of them are down-right exclusive. I'm probably way outside of the norm here, but I don't buy a particular console for exclusives. It's one of the big issues I have with Nintendo, as their consoles basically exist for exclusives. I would like to see all of these systems move to less exclusivity, more cross-play, and in general get to a point where the competition for console sales depends more on the console itself than it does on the software you're going to run on it. Ultimately, I bought a 4K television last year with the intent of purchasing this console this year. I'd like to game in 4K, and this is the cheapest path to me doing it on a platform that I'm familiar with and enjoy. Additionally they showed off plenty of games that are going to be on the console that I'm at least interested in playing. We'll see how many of those actually turn out as promising as they seem. Of that I'm skeptical, in particular with Anthem.

Well, it only took me close to 2 years and close to 200 hours, but I finally finished The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Awesome game - one of the greatest RPGs I have ever played. It secures top spot of my list of favourite games of all time. If you have been thinking about playing it, do so - you won't be disappointed. Now I'm on to finish the DLC: Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine. See you in this thread next year.

I'll be getting it. Glad to see it's a significant improvement from my current Xbox One. I feel good about not pulling the trigger on the Xbox One S.

My question is...for those of us that already got it with Infinite Warfare, will they unlock our ability to play the digital copy without the IW disc or not...?

I do not have many hobbies that I spend money on but this is one of them. $500 for a few years of daily use is worth it to me for the visual update and 4k UHD Blu Ray too.

Wonder Woman. That it was still under the Zack Snyder banner & still a positive non-bleak Superhero flick was/is surprising (how much of that was due to his wife &/or Jeoff Johns is the question). Him going out on a positive note as opposed to a controversial one is a plus. DC/WB will hopefully pay more attention to her character now, maybe give her some recurring villains besides Cheetah who are worth a damn. Again Misney blew an opportunity here, they had pretty much a decade head-start over DC/WB on the live action movie front (She Hulk &/or Squirrel Girl could have been done by this time). Anyone who hasn't seen it yet should really do so, unless you're not a WW fan. It's definitely in my Blu-ray/DVD collection when it hits. I would say an 8 out of 10.

I finished Bloodborne back in December and this week I finished up the Old Hunters DLC. Man... I didn't think I was going to like this game much but I have to say it's one of my favorite games of all time now. They nailed down every single detail in the game, it's flawless. Yea it can be tough but it's not impossible. After you beat the first couple bosses you'll have what you need to know to finish the rest of the game.

3 new zones in Acts II and IV. https://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/20845161/first-look-the-shrouded-moors-beyond-6-22-2017 Not seeing a date, but guessing next month before Season 11 starts. Looks like necro requires 2.6 so this will be out next week as well.

Duke, Hop, Sith and I had some great talks about great classic science fiction books. I'm currently working on finishing Dune. I was reading Neuromancer before I had to return it to the library, I definitely intend on finishing that one. I also read the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy not too long ago. Dune has been amazing so far, I'm only 5 chapters in and the plot is starting to pick up but I'm just getting so pumped for the character development and story to take off. The world is so immersive and realistic for a fantasy type sci-fi story. I've been enjoying all these books (Dune/Neuromancer/Hitchhikers) like hell. Got anything else I should look into?

That price is a joke. 10 years after release and it is only $20 cheaper....

It's had a pretty good run - the power of Forge has extended its lifespan pretty considerably compared to other games. Unfortunately daylight savings time always plays havoc with our turnout for Halo night, and that in turn impacts what sorts of customs we can feasibly manage.

Because it's all free money to them. The game already helped them sell another game, and now they're milking it with no cost to them.

I will be picking up this Necro addon, but not sure what platform I'll get it on. Probably PC, but if they add this into the current ultimate edition for consoles I might also grab a copy for Xbox. It has been far too long since I last played Diablo 3.

Same here. I have a feeling this might mirror Evolve: group jumps in when it's cheap... wouldn't be surprised if it lasts about as long as Evolve did, too. :/

I remember the anime shorts actually being pretty good. I feel it's important to also note that there were three - yes, three - Matrix video games, including Matrix Online. While that MMO was shut down in 2009, there has been a project to resurrect it ever since.

Wonder Woman 8.5 / 10 The movie was an overall fun experience. What nitpicks there are (and they are only nitpicks) are completely overshadowed by the movie's pacing and quality. Gal Gadot brings Wonder Woman to life! I was one of the many that were first annoyed by her not fitting the "type casting" for WW. And she made us all wrong. Chris Pine did a perfect job, all the actors did, of being great while still having the focus be Gadot. The movie loses half a point for the back-and-forth of Wonder Woman's trained amazon warrioring to girly wannabe ass kicker and back again. Oddly, it was only present after she leaves the island (uh, spoiler). An entire point is lost for the last bit of the climactic conclusion. By no means does it ruin nor mar the flick. It was simply uninspired cliche weak sauce. Coupled with that weird back-and-forth I mentioned earlier it didn't damage the movie yet it certainly didn't do it any favors. I was honestly amazed how unpolitical the movie was. It has its messages but they are in the vein of yesteryear: short and sweet, not blunt and shallow in accordance to the messes of modern left and right. I watched the movie in 3D and there really isn't a pressing need for it, no CGI that screams for it 'n such. But there are several moments where it is used well. For a fun escape you could do much, much worse than Wonder Woman.

Some E3 stuff that I've seen so far that has "raised my eyebrows" . The spiritual successor to Castlevania. Hopefully Bloodstained can deliver, trailer looks promising. Also Bethesdas Creation Club announcement, which has me a bit more wary. The Fallout 4 VR thing was interesting too, though not my cup of tea (anyone who things I'm wearing a VR thing over my glasses don't know me very well).

Yeah, I can relate, but it just looks sooo beautiful. The developers have said there'll be an Easy Mode. However, the Easy mode will be Normal for most of us (me included), while Normal is Hard. This looks like it's one of those games that would best be played co-op. That way when a character dies, the other can save them if quick enough & foes can still be tag teamed against.

Yeah, I thought this would be a sequel or a game in the sort of same "universe" as LiS but a prequel I'm not really interested in. I have a pretty good idea what happened to Chloe and Rachel from the first game.

Anthem by EA, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Crackdown 3, Metroid Prime 4, and some of the "hunger games" type games have me interested. OG Xbox games being backwards compatible is also a huge bonus for me. It means I will always have a place to play Jet Set Radio.

Yeah so far each of the big conferences have had some things that are of interest to me. I'll say that Spiderman on the PS4 looks like it could be a blast. Super excited for PS4 owners that never got a chance to play Shadow of the Colossus before - this will look gorgeous with updated graphics.

I'm digging it a lot, especially the multi-verse mode. It's probably the only time that I found the story in an FG actually interesting. The Superman ending is so scary it's almost unbelievable.

So waiting for a sale is definitely the way to go imo. It's a fun game, but it's definitely not worth the $60 they are asking. I got it for $33 on pc so I'm not upset about that. It's fun and the enemies are challenging. There seems to always be more than one way around a situation as well. Even if it just means running away. The goo gun is kind of frustrating but you get used to it in time. The mimics are frustrating to hit but that's just because they are so small.
