  1. My garden in Hangman's Ally is dropping copies of the "unique" gatling laser "Final Judgement". I have my main base set up in Hangman's Ally. I have a small 9 plant garden with 3 Mutfruit, Tatos and Corn so I can get vegetable starch. Every so often a copy of the Final Judgment will appear on the ground in the middle of the garden. This is one of the more interesting bugs I've found. I'm no where near having access to the character that carries the unique version. Strangely, the copies that appear in my garden have the name "Final Judgemnet" but also have a star next to their name. I only have two copies so far and I just store them since I am playing a ballistic bases stealth character. I can't figure out what is causing the weapon(s) to drop. Its sort of funny though.
  2. Fallout 4: Survival Difficulty

My biggest tips for survival are stocking up on water, antibiotics and meat. I found stimpaks to be less useful because I was always having to eat, drink or sleep so my health stayed high. When you get sick you can start losing health faster than water will replenish it so finding a doctor and/or antibiotics is key, even very early on. I found myself doing local leader 2 way before I intended just so I could have easy access to a clinic to heal radiation and cure infections. Using any chems will chew through your water and make you more susceptible to infection, so finding a doctor is really valuable. Cooked food also replenishes health. The food buffs only work when you are not hungry. Oh, and Grilled Ragstag will be a blessing with the nerfed carry weight. No addiction and it lasts way longer than buffout.
  3. The Overlooked Big Jim Pipe Wrench

Oh, and don't forget to regularly check your companion's inventory. It can quickly fill up with weapons they've stolen from enemies.
  4. The Overlooked Big Jim Pipe Wrench

So I overlooked the Legendary Melee Weapon the Big Jim pipe wrench. I don't play as a melee character so I just stuffed it into a box. Then I read up on the effect and decided to add the Hook mod which requires no perks. So Big Jim has a 20% chance to cripple a limb. This doesn't sound like a big deal until you see it in action. During longer fights a Companion can completely cripple a Legendary Alpha Death Claw leaving it unable to move as its crumpled on the ground. With the Hook mod, which requires no perks, Big Jim can rip the weapon our of an enemies hands. This means that enemies can be stripped of their weapons and then left unable to move. So Piper just owned Clint in Quincy on the latest Survival Difficulty. He got off a few shots then Piper used Big Jim to rip his Legendary auto laser riffle gun out of his hands. Then he switched to a backup laser pistol, she stole that gun too, leaving him with just fists. Mirelurks get gimped by the crippling effect, super mutants lose their guns and or get crippled, its pretty funny. The only real enemies that seem to be immune to the crippling effect and can't be disarmed are robots. Everyone else it left as a weaponless heap, unable to fight back. The other added bonus is that Big Jim is available very close to Sanctuary and is defended by 4 low level raiders. Plus, it requires no ammo for companions to burn through.
  5. Do You Need Walls for Defense?

Other than the "happiness" value for settlers, do improved defenses alter the gameplay at all? I've been reading around and it looks like you still have to help out with attacks anyway. It seems like passive defenses like walls and active defenses like turrets are just for aesthetic value.
  6. Do You Need Walls for Defense?

Some settlement locations are quite large. Do you need to wall in the entire area? Do you need walls at all or will turrets do the job of crushing invaders? What gets destroyed if its not protected by a wall? In the real world I wouldn't attempt to protect a huge large space. I'd use walls minimally and only defend areas that are of real use. Would this concept apply to FO4?
  7. Are BF4 and COD:Ghosts Eggs Laid to Support New Console Sales?

I didn't mean to imply that one is better than the other. I was more comparing past releases of COD to Ghosts and the past releases of BF to the current BF release. Neither game has gotten exceptional accolades from their own respective community.
  8. I have played maybe 20 minutes of any COD in my lifetime, but have played way more than my fair share of BFBC2, BF3 and BF4. After reading reviews about Ghost (by COD players) and BF4 reviews (by BF players) it sure seems like both titles were released before they were done cooking. I spent a ton of time in Tamriel away from BF3 and wonder if I would have been just as happy visiting BF3 maps that I had never played once I left for my journeys through Skyrim. BF4 is fun, but it still sort of feels like a less than ready BF3.1. Neither BF4 or Ghosts is getting very good reviews on Amazon right now. 9. Winter Bicycling Clothes

I'm outside of DC, so its been in the 60s the past couple of days, but I do want to be able to ride whenever. Last winter was pretty mild, but we've been known to get hammered with multiday sub 20 temps. REI had a sale on their Novara brand stuff and I just got some cycling rain pants and a nylon windbreaker jacket. I've already got a ton of stuff for alpine skiing, so after taking inventory the only things I really needed were for my legs. I skipped the purpose built shorts/pant and got a chamois that I can wear under anything (like hiking shorts, or rain pants). The biking rain pants I got can honestly be used for regular sporting activities without screaming middle age Tour de France wanabe. For spring skiing I could easily get away with a pair of basketball shorts under hardshell wind proof pants. When the temp dipped below 30 a lightweight poly base layer (under hardshell pants) worked well and wicked sweat. We'll see if the concept works with cycling. Strangely that clothes calculator has worked well for the past couple of days.
  10. Winter Bicycling Clothes

Does this gear calulator make sense? http://www.bicycling.com/whattowear It seems pretty straight forward. Enter the temp, wind, skies and it recommend what to wear.
  11. Winter Bicycling Clothes

Do you use a chamois for the backside?
  12. Winter Bicycling Clothes

What's your layering setup like? I see tons of people doing winter riding just using a bib, long jersey and maybe a vest. I am not a bib kind of dude, so I am looking for other alertnatives that are sort fo fitted without being skin tight.
  13. Winter Bicycling Clothes

I am looking for some good alternatives for winter cycling outerwear. Soccer pants seem to be a good coice for pants as they have tapered legs. Anyone have a good recommendation for windproof jacket that doesn't cost a fortune? I am trying to stayt away from cycling specific attire since it seems to be spendy, when cross country ski or running gear seems to have simialr features and be much less spendy.
  14. The netcode, which apparently shares player location coordinates across the interwebs to connected players, is having some issues. I have been both the victim and the benefactor of this. The net result is that players locations are out of sync giving one player an advantage over another regarding who shot first, or if your shots even hit the target. I think the advantage given is somewhat random. There are some videos on Youtube that can better explain the problem: What I will say is that it can make for some confusing game play and that it seem to me to be pretty random. My barely mediocre KD ratio (.83) is just a little better than my barely mediocore BF3 KD ratio. I did get frustrated unlocking the .44 magnum to find out that I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it in some games when I was in melee range of a camping sniper. With the 44 magnum the first shot might hit the target, but once they started moving it was a lost cause.
