  1. Official TAG Grilling/BBQing Thread

This may sound crazy but I just did a 20 minute marinade on chicke breast that was bbq sauce and teriyaki sauce. A little salt, pepper, garlic, splash of soy and Worcestershire, amaze-balls! (People still say that, right?) Currently enjoying an after dinner coffee stout.

Marinating your meat in beer is actually good for you (and your meat). https://www.yahoo.com/food/the-number-1-reason-to-marinate-your-meat-in-beer-80806472024.html
  3. Official TAG Slow Cooking Thread

Here is one of my recipes from our food blog (that we never update). I am making this tomorrow and will add some pictures. Brandon's Chicken Stew: 2-3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts cubed (raw)1 onion diced5 carrots sliced5 pieces of celery slicedHandful of mushrooms sliced **see below1 leek (optional)2.5 lbs Potatoes- red work best as they don’t fall apart as easily. I usually do these last and just fill up the rest of the crock pot with them. 1.5 beers- usually 1 can PBR (light American lager) and ½ of whatever I am drinking/craft beer1 can cream of chicken soup1 can cream of mushroom or celery soup **We usually don’t have whole mushrooms on hand so we just use cream of mushroom Couple/Few pinches of basil- 1 Tbsp+Couple/Few pinches of oregano- 1 Tbsp+Pinch of Rosemary- about 1 tspLots of pepper- about 2 TbspLots of salt- about 2 Tbsp4 cloves of garlic- minced (1 Tbsp+ of pre-minced stuff in the jar) Add all ingredients to crock pot as they are cut. Mix together. Cook high for 4-5 hours or low for 7-8+ hours stirring occasionally. Once everything is cooked and potatoes are done and can be easily cut with a spoon or fork, turn crock pot off or to “warm.” Make sure to use a different stirring spoon (or thoroughly clean the spoon) once the chicken is cooked, no one wants to get sick. Mix a couple of decent sized spoonfuls of cornstarch or flour with some water and mix into stew. Let stew sit for a bit to thicken up. The longer it sits and cooler it gets, the thicker it will get. Eat with buttered sourdough bread. For whatever reason it always seems a lot better the second day.

    Happy birthday!
  7. What are you drinking tonight?

Lots of alcohol today. Homebrewed winter ale I made for my daughter's first bday, 10% abv with anise and chocolate. Thinking about opening a Firestone Walker barley wine I have been aging since March, although probably not. Will be heating up some homebrewed mead and adding some spices to it later tonight. And will probably crack open one of my last three bottles of 1.5 year old homebrewed cider.
  8. What are you drinking tonight?

I just had a Sam Adams Chocolate Bock. Pretty damn good for a chocolate beer. Flavor is obvious and maybe a lttile much, but not too offensive.
  9. Introductions

  10. What are you drinking tonight?

So I had some of the Pyramid Chai Wheat. It tastes like they just added some spices to their apricot beer. Not bad, not great, a little lazy seeming. I can only drink about one at a time.
  11. What are you drinking tonight?

I got a seasonal winter 24 case of Pyramid from CostCo today. Has the typical Snow Cap seasonal and their Hefeweizen. But also includes an oatmeal stout and a chai wheat. Stout is tasty. I am interested to try this chai one though.
  12. What are you drinking tonight?

Nice Hugo. That is one expensive beer trip... I am also very jealous.
  13. What are you drinking tonight?

Kirkland brand beer (ie CostCo brand). I keep telling myself not to buy it agai because it is not that great. Then, everytime I go to CostCo I end up buying it because it is $5 cheaper than any other 24 pack. It is really not that worth it...to save the $5...at least it still works :)

  15. Halo 4 or Black Ops 2??

If anything Halo 4 for me. Probably neither since funds will be tight unless I get it for Christmas.
