Taptalk Issues

36 posts in this topic

I think the quotation issues with Tapatalk have been fixed.

If you use Tapatalk, please test it so we can determine if there are still display issues. Feel free to post test messages in this thread. I'll clean it up later.

Thanks!

There is now a Tapatalk nag screen when you first visit on a phone or tablet. No big, just letting you know.

I turned off the nag screen prompting mobile users to install Tapatalk.

This seems to be a very common problem for a lot of sites. I updated the Tapatalk app and it now shows error 2203. A lot of sites seem to have the problem. The primary advice from Tapatalk is to update to the latest forum plugin version, which I did. However, there was a minor error during the install. I think it's related to an ongoing problem with our server host (I've had an open ticket since January). Until I can get a clean install of the Tapatalk plugin, I won't be able to do much to resolve the issue.

So, now the quotations are fixed, but people can't reliable post. I'll keep looking into it, but I don't expect much progress until our server host helps out.

TL;DR: There is an issue with our server, no ETA on a fix.

Also, with the new plugin and app, they say you need to log into the Tapatalk app with your Tapatalk ID.

I tried to access TAG a few times via tapatalk.  It seems to hang up on loading up the Unread topics.

I've never found tapatalk very effective or a good user experience. This site mobile is WAY better in my opinion.

I suppose if others frequent other sites most don't have nice mobile versions like at TAG, and as such need to rely on an app like tapatalk which is unfortunate.

Things seem to be working well for me now. Thanks for the fix Madwik.

Tapatalk can be nice if you browse multiple forums and it also has some nice views I like to use.

After Galaxisweb updates our server this weekend, I'll try again to get them to assist with an open ticket we have. There are some security settings that are causing problems when we try to install/update some IPBoard modules.

Tapatalk has been upgraded to the latest and greatest, v4.0.1.
Please let me know if you notice problems.

(Edit: Posted this from my iPhone with no errors in the app, and it did not double post. Hope it work well for everyone else.)
