1080P doesn't mean better (COD)

Apparently COD AW is running at 1080P on PS4, but that doesn't necessarily make it better than XB1...Read the article if you are into that kind of stuff.

Also a side by side comparison video in the link.

EDIT: Possible spoilers if you haven't played any of the campaign yet, but only if you watch the video. Also that person in the video must have the dark settings pretty low on the XB1, mine didn't look nearly that dark, unless it is my computer monitor.

I'll take 60fps at a lower resolution over 1080p at a lower framreate any day.

Cool thing about the xbox version is that it will dynamically adjust the resolution to keep the framrate locked at 60.

But the PS4 isn't keeping it at 1080p @ 60fps.

Yea I realized that after I posted and removed it.

I thought it was locked at 60 on the ps4 but I was wrong!

So ps4 gamers will claim resolution matters most

XB1 gamers will claim a locked 60fps matters most.

And pc gamers will sit up on their throne and laugh at both of them.

The whole console wars thing is so fucking tired.

There are quite a few people with both consoles.  Sounds like Sledgehammer games could have been a bit more forth coming about what to expect when deciding between them.

I had assumed that since the PS4 didn't dynamically adjust the resolution it was locked at 60.  Weird that they don't both do it... I wonder why they put it in the xbox version but not the playstation version?

Probably because Sony would rather have the "always running at 1080p" marketing point. Most people see 1080p and don't know a thing about framerate or what 1080p actually even means... it just matches what their TV says.

Aren't you buried in 60 cm of snow already? the console will keep you warm!

Can't say I'm surprised because I don't think either console is as powerful as it should be for $400. I'm really enjoying the campaign, but it doesn't always do a good job of explaining your objective. In one scene, my squad leader tells me "Mitchell, drop two, Alpha will mop up!" I was like, wtf does that mean!? Took me about 10 minutes to realize it wanted me to kill two specific bad guy around the side of the building, but not just ANY two bad guys. Killing the wrong two bad guys caused the mission to instantly fails with, "Mitchell! What are you doing!?" You can imagine my response ;-)

I don't know what they used to capture that video but I sure hope the game looks better then that in person regardless of FPS and resolution. And I think resolution matters of course it does or we'd all still be using our single yellow RCA cable rocking the 240p :P which btw sucks a lot...and thank you for the link as after watching that video I know I won't be picking up this one. (On topic I think the Xbox one or the PS4 are both fine if you don't have them both running side by side like in the video you wouldn't care either way)

Cheers
