One tip I saw in reddit was to not burn a req card on spawn. Instead spawn, clear any danger in the area, then hit a req dispenser to get your power weapon, etc. That way you are in a safer position to use it.

On the rare case that I spawn a really good card that I don't have many of, is to make sure I spawn at the home base and then use the machines inside safety.

Using a req station in the other bases can just as easily become death traps.

Five seconds was enough to ensure that someone on the other team who just killed you from far away didn't have a chance to run up and grab your shit.  The only thing worse that not being able to get back to your high req weapon is knowing some dude from the other team is running around killing your team with your req points.

I'm constantly looting dead bodies in Warzone looking for better weapons either because I didn't get up to that req level yet, or, I haven't had unlocked that specific loadout version of a weapon yet.

I'd still love to see 343 offer the ability to use the legendary versions of the various weapons in either custom games, or, do some sort of Arena social playlist with them.

apparently weapons don't despawn if you are looking at them. once it went all the way from the core to the back of the armory, picked up my req, got killed, and made it almost all the way back to it a 2nd time before i got distracted by someone and when i looked back the weapon had vanished.

I wonder, also, if the weapons timer for disappearing also resets every time someone picks up the weapon you dropped. Happened to me yesterday with one of the higher level shotguns. I lost it when I got swarmed by a few guys trying to take a base and after respawning pretty far away I got back to somewhere near the spot I dropped it and found it. So, I think someone else picked it up and then got killed themselves...unless, someone else used req points for the same weapon.

Halo 5 Infinity's Armor Update

343 Industries has revealed the first bits of info about the next major update to Halo 5: Guardians. Titled Infinity’s Armor, the update will include a ton of new content for the game, which includes a bunch of cosmetic stuff, but also new maps for players to enjoy.

These maps seem much bigger and better than those we’ve seen added to the game so far, most of which were modified Forge maps. These look to be wholly new creations, including the introduction of a new Warzone map titled Urban. Arena also gets some love with Riptide. These are said to be “remix” maps, so they’re based on other currently available levels, but modified by the team.

On top of this come some new weapons, one of which should really please longtime series fans. The Halo 2 Battle Rifle returns to the series in this update, with what seems to be all of its classic features intact. The inclusion of the Mark V Alpha Armor should also make fans happy, bringing a bit of nostalgia to Halo 5: Guardians.

Halo 5 Infinity’s Armor is the January update for the game, so expect it some time in the next week or two. Halo 5: Guardians is available now exclusively for Xbox One.

They just changed the Breakout playlist to be all community forge maps. Removed the 343 maps for the duration of the January season. They also say they are working on some other playlists like action sack.  Me likey.

I just saw on Halo Waypoint that tonight at 6pm EST (3pm PST) there is a live steam event (Twitch, YouTube, Halo Channel) showing a preview of Infinity's Armor. Won't be able to watch it because I'll be working.

  • Fixed issue where Maintain Sprint being toggled off didn’t allow players to slide when sprinting

User Interface:

  • Spartan Rank Progress now appears under all players’ nameplate
  • Active Roster updated to show whether or not friends are joinable and/or can be spectated
  • Rarity is displayed for REQs in Spartan HUB Customization
  • Players can now see equipped customization items from Spartan Appearance, Spartan ID, and Weapon Skins rather than going to each individual menu screen
