Default Borderlands Wiki and Gun Info
I'm sure some (most) of you have seen this site, but if not, here is a bunch of good info on Borderlands, especially the weapons and meanings behind some of the weapon description text:

Weapons Information

One thing I didn't know, is that there are apparently more gun levels than I thought:

White < Green < Blue < Purple < Yellow < Orange < Dark Orange < Pearlescent



As for how to tell the difference between White and Perlescent:

Note: May Be hard to spot the difference between White and Pearlescent, Pearlescent will be placed above Dark Orange guns or at the top of your backpack, and will usually have red text In the stat/description box of the gun.

Yeah - that was my reaction too

Z - I've got a gun that I think you might like (assuming it's not too weak for you now). It's an orange or dark orange pistol I got from FAT/Frost that I don't use anymore. If you're on tonight send me an invite and I'll hand it over.

Cool - I will. What level is it? My soldier's already got a badass orange revolver and he's 30, but my Siren could use a nice legendary pistol. She's 22.

I've seen a couple of the Pearlescent guns, didn't notice anything special about them though.

Really annoying though that they made the rarest/best weapons the same color as ammo
